Client: ManoMano | Year: 2023

Context
Collaborating with ManoMano, a prominent online marketplace for home improvement and gardening products, I embarked on a research project to address the challenge of equipping sellers with effective promotion mechanisms to elevate product visibility and conversion rates.

Goals
Our mission was to empower ManoMano's sellers with a comprehensive and user-friendly list of actionable promotion mechanisms. The primary goal was to enhance the visibility of their products and boost conversion rates, contributing to the overall success of their online businesses.

Methods
I conducted 12 in-depth interviews with sellers across English, French, Spanish, and Chinese-speaking markets to explore their experiences, challenges, and strategies related to product promotion. In parallel, I carried out a benchmark study focusing on three key promotion mechanisms—coupons, sponsored products, and crossed pricing—across leading platforms such as eBay, AliExpress, Amazon, and Cdiscount.

Outcome
The research yielded valuable insights for enhancing promotion mechanisms' usability, benefits communication, and personalization options. While initial strides were made in developing a user-friendly interface and showcasing benefits through data analytics, the project's progression was deprioritized by ManoMano due to shifting business priorities and resource allocation. Despite the project's current status, the groundwork laid during this research phase positions it for potential future exploration.
